If you're moving to Glendale, Arizona from far away, no doubt you're going to be leaving most of your old stuff behind, which means you'll have to furnish and decorate your new place from scratch. Glendale is a great place to do this, as it's one of the premiere shopping destinations in the Phoenix metro area. Not only will you find all the furnishings and decorations you need, but you'll probably also come across that funk music CD you've been looking for and that pair of shoes you were admiring online. Your neighbors will no doubt direct you to their favorite boutiques, but for now rely on our shopping guide to Glendale, Arizona.
Antiques
If you dream of outfitting your new place with classic furniture from a bygone era, Glendale is where you'll want to go to shop whether you live in the city or not. As the Antique Capitol of Arizona, you can find everything from estate sales to major dealers here in town. The Old Towne district of historic downtown Glendale is where all the action is, featuring smaller shops with unique wares ranging from original Stickley pieces to wrought iron furniture. Toronto has nothing on it. Old Towne doesn't just sell antiques, however, it is antique, offering quaint brick sidewalks and old-style gas streetlamps.
Historic Downtown Glendale
Looking for something unique and funky? Perhaps some vintage clothes, homemade chocolates, or an arrowhead shaped license plate cover? You won't be able to find these things at a normal mall, but the specialty shops in Historic Downtown Glendale are anything but normal! Outfitting yourself like a real cowboy at Cowpoke Western Wear, taking a folk art painting class at The Tole Shop, and finding that rare bear for your collection at Bears & More are just some of the things you can do in an afternoon in downtown Glendale.
Arrowhead Towne Center
Many shopping malls in Arizona tend to be of the outdoor variety, and from Arrowhead Towne Center's name, you would expect that to be the case here but in fact, Arrowhead is one of the few enclosed malls in the West Valley. Arrowhead's demographic is more upscale than your traditional mall, so it's your destination for top name products like Alfred Sung wedding dresses and Victoria's Secret underwear. The mall also has traditional staples like Macey's and J.C Penny along with a variety of fast food and sit-down restaurants and an AMC movie theater.
Westgate and Glendale Northern
Arrowhead can't claim to be Glendale's only mall, because there are two other major shopping powerhouses in the city. The Westgate City Center is known for its night life and plethora of restaurants where you and your pals can go to celebrate a friend's engagement or your winning of the car raffle. Glendale Northern Shopping Corridor is all about specialty clothing boutiques and wine, but there are also spas, salons, restaurants and night clubs to explore. The Citadelle Plaza in the Northern Shopping Corridor is an outdoor shopping district becoming increasingly popular with wealthy tourists who are in the market for luxury jewelry and designer clothing.
